These workshops are for young people ages 10-18, who play or have an interest in Bagpipes and Pipe Band Drums. You don’t need to be from Plockton to take part, but you do need to get yourself there!

All of our Outreach programme is currently completely free. This is something we are incredibly proud of. However, putting on events like this is incredibly costly, so we are open to donations.

We believe that we offer a unique experience in the world of pipe bands. We are bringing an extremely talented team of tutors and some inspirational young people involved with the wider NYPBS programme.

It’s a chance to experience what the NYPBS does and meet other pipers and drummers your age.

We will be working on new music and concert repertoire, which will differ from the competition repertoire you might already know.

You will also have the chance to play alongside some amazing accompanying instruments.

You can participate in our program regardless of your level of experience as a piper or drummer. We cater to all levels, from complete beginners to very advanced, and ensure that everyone is appropriately challenged.

Our National programme aims to be a valuable resource for anyone in Scotland who shares a passion for piping and drumming. We strive to bring young people together, both within and beyond our core bands, to strengthen local communities and increase our reach.

The NYPBS' outreach programme is constantly growing and aims to assist Pipe Band communities by offering exciting opportunities for young people to learn and create music. Our workshops cover a range of topics, including concert repertoire, theory, maintenance, and technical skills.
